Biography: “David Whitaker” – Auctioneer/ Owner
After watching Phil Schooley and Jon Schaben sell cGM5_0003attle at the auction where he was selling his personal livestock, David decided he would like to learn to become an auctioneer. Having no previous family or any other ties to the auction industry, just an incredible urge to try, he attended Missouri Auction School. After completion of the school, he started to work for a couple of local auctioneers and every once in a while I would sell cattle at Dunlap Livestock. Since then he has started with his wife Ann, an Auction & Real estate group selling everything from livestock to real estate. “Whitaker Marketing Group”
David, in November 2010 became a licensed real estate salesperson at the company’s central Iowa office. David has a diverse complement of education and work experience.
Auctioneering and real estate courses over the years have given David the ability to work as a contract auctioneer in all types of auctions state wide. While selling farm machinery, antiques, livestock, estate, benefit, and real estate auctions, David gained the experience needed to start his personal auction company. He has a background in farming/ ranching, and livestock. David and his wife, Ann, managed a purebred Angus herd in Ames, IA area where they still live today. They have one son named, Colton. David is active in the Realtor Land institute, Iowa Auctioneers Association and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association.
